The only thing worse than being sick is being sick while on the road. Driving can be exhausting, and if you’re not careful, your cold can easily end up lasting twice as long as it needs to simply because you’re traveling.
Here are a few tips for recovery from a cold while out on a road trip or traveling for extended periods of time.
1. Pick up some zinc lozenges. Zinc is one of the only proven treatments for the common cold, and while it won’t cure you immediately, it will decrease the duration of a cold by as much as 40%. If you don’t like lozenges, you might consider an oral spray such as Zicam or zinc supplementary tablets. Still, zinc is easy to find while traveling, and it’s almost sure to help your cold heal faster.
