Those who know me know that talking about myself is one of my favourite subjects…and that any opportunity for a bit of publicity is well received. Those who know this site will know how much of a fan we are of Logan Anderson and Say the Damn Score. Logan beautifully encapsulates his sportscasting career in a way that’s up-beat and relatable, while tackling some very heavy subjects related to our industry.
After weeks of calendar-tag and lining up a time to bridge a 3 hour time difference and work schedules, I was only too happy to sit down over the phone with Logan to answer his questions. We talked about a whole host of things from my start in sportscasting, gaining an appreciation for hockey, all the jobs I took while calling games and of course a bit about Sportscaster Life too.
Logan’s podcast is always a good listen, but this one might be the best of the bunch.
This podcast is with Alex Rawnsley of SportscasterLife.com We chat about: How he being willing to take on numerous jobs helped him get a lead play-by-play job, the difficulty of leaving a job without another one lined up, odd jobs that he worked to keep his play-by-play dream alive, how he learned to love hockey, a new sport, after leaving Australia and moving to Canada, tips on calling hockey, how and why he developed his website…and much more!
